Right now, we’re seeing an unprecedented demand for help. People are coming through our doors who have not eaten a meal for up to three days.
Sadly, people are finding they can’t meet the ever-increasing cost of groceries, bills and rent or mortgage payments. Over 84,000 Tasmanian households right now are struggling to put food on the table - let alone presents for Christmas.
This Christmas, City Mission needs your help to support struggling families in Tasmania with food and toys for kids. Some families need help to even keep a roof over their heads.
Will you donate today and give the gift of hope to families in need this Christmas?
This time last year Alison and her family had been homeless for six months.
“We were struggling, we couldn’t even think about Christmas with the kids. it was a real low point. I just didn’t know what was going to happen.”
But with the help of kind people like you, City Mission was able to provide Alison and her family with temporary accommodation and support to get back on their feet.
“We were really struggling with money (after paying bond and everything) so City Mission helped us with gifts for our kids – they have a Toy Room set up at Christmas time!”
“I can’t tell you what it meant to me to give my children the Christmas day they deserve.”
Will you help more people like Alison this Christmas time?
For 170 years, City Mission has been providing care and support in our community. When you donate, you are helping those in need across the North and North-West of Tasmania.
